AI chatbots have become very popular due to their uncanny ability to excel at technical tasks like coding, writing, and more. However, these skills only scratch the surface of what chatbots can do.
I use an AI chatbot almost every day in my personal life, and it’s definitely not for coding.

Rather, I use AI to help me with tasks that may seem simple but require time and creativity, two things I don’t always have.
Below is my roundup of helpful ways to use AI chatbots to make your life easier.
Note: I personally use Bing Chat for all of these use cases. You can also use ChatGPT and it will work for all prompts below; however, it won’t give you the latest information because it’s not indexing the web for answers.
1. Recipes
Coming up with new three meal ideas every day for yourself or your family can be challenging.
To avoid getting stumped, I ask my favorite AI chatbot, Bing Chat, for recipe ideas. Many times I ask for recipe ideas based on specific ingredients that I have in my fridge.

For example, I might ask, “Can you give me a recipe that uses carrots, onions, chicken, and pasta?” In seconds, he’ll give me a recipe that I can follow.
You can also use this method to find recipes that meet your dietary needs and restrictions. For example, “Give me recipe ideas that are gluten-free and dairy-free.”
2. Find places to eat
On the topic of food, AI chatbots can help you find places to eat and even discover new ones.
Whether you’re meeting someone and want to suggest a restaurant, find yourself in a new neighborhood you’ve never been to and need suggestions on where to go, or just want to discover new places in your area, you can use AI to help.

All you have to do is tell him where you want to find a restaurant and what you are looking for.
For example, I asked Bing Chat, “Can you help me find a place to eat in NYC that serves Latin food and is open for happy hour?”
Bing Chat then produced several restaurants I could go to that met the criteria, and even included links to its Yelp reviews.
3. Make yourself a drink
This concept is very similar to using AI to help you prepare a meal. Whether you’re craving an alcoholic beverage or a smoothie, you can use an AI chatbot to help you concoct the perfect recipe.
For example, if you want to make yourself a sweet cocktail using rum, you can ask Bing Chat: “What sweet cocktails can I make with rum?”
Bing Chat will then give you cocktail suggestions. If you like it, you can follow how to make it.
You can also use Bing chat to generate unique drinks from fun suggestions.
For example, during a Bing press event in New York, the company had a smoothie bar that used Bing Chat to make smoothies based on your favorite TV character.

The smoothie bar attendee typed a prompt into Bing Chat such as “Make a Dora-inspired smoothie,” to which Bing produced a detailed and fun recipe to incorporate the character traits that the smoothie maker would follow.
You could do this with many other suggestions, including seasons, sentiments, songs, and more.
4. Date nights
If you’ve ever been in a relationship, especially a long-term one, you may have found yourself running out of new date ideas and feeling like you’ve done it all.
AI chatbots can help you find fun, new and creative dates that you may have never thought of on your own.

For example, I asked Bing Chat for help finding the perfect laid-back date night by asking, “Can you give me an idea for a date that’s indoors and on a budget?”
Bing Chat then gave me five cute date ideas that fit the criteria. Even if you don’t decide to follow any of these ideas exactly, it could be a helpful way for you and your partner to get the creative juices flowing.
5. Find what to watch on TV
Deciding to watch something on TV is only half the battle. The hardest part can often be deciding what to watch. Next time you’re stuck, ask the AI for help.

You can ask an AI chatbot to help you find a movie or show to watch in the specific genre you’re looking for. It will provide content suggestions that will narrow down your choices and hopefully make your decision easier.
If you ask ChatGPT the question, he also includes a synopsis of each movie he suggests so you can avoid watching trailers. The only problem is that the hints would be limited to movies before 2021.

The benefit of using Bing Chat is that you can also specify the streaming network you want to suggest movies from.
For example, I asked “Can you help me pick a romantic comedy to watch on Netflix?”, to which I was met with a whole list.
6. Play
While it may sound silly, playing basic games with AI is quite fun. If you’re ever sitting in a boring classroom or business meeting, feel free to ask your favorite AI chatbot to play games with you.
AI chatbots are capable of playing all the standard games you know and love, like tic-tac-toe, hangman, trivia, 20 questions, and more.

My personal favorite is set, although I’ve found that beating the AI is a lot more complicated than you’d expect.
To get started all you need to do is say, “We can play [insert game you want to play]” and the game will begin.
7. Throw a party
Planning a party involves so many moving pieces. Now you can use AI chatbots to help you with almost every piece of the puzzle. To show you what I mean, I’ll start with an example.

I asked Bing Chat, “Can you help me throw a party for my dog’s 5th birthday?”
The initial response included venue, decorations, activities, and food ideas I could use for my dog’s birthday party. From there, I could go ahead with any of these and ask Bing Chat for more help.
If I was actually planning this party, I could have followed that up with questions regarding a more comprehensive list of activities, treats, venues, food options, and more.
